What is Strategic?
Part One - Introduction
To understand "what is Strategic", we start by explaining what is strategy.
A strategy is typically an idea that distinguishes a course of action by its premise that a certain future position offers an advantage for acquiring some designated (or chosen) gain.

First, the word “strategy” derives from the Greek word stratçgos; which derives from two words: -
- "stratos" – meaning army.
- "ago" – which is the ancient Greek for leading/guiding/moving to.
It originally referred to a 'military commander' during the age of Athenian Democracy.
In other words Strategy is a style of thinking; a conscious and deliberate process; an intensive implementation system.
The art & science of ensuring and thereby securing future success.
After we formulate our strategy using one strategic planning method or another, any action we take (whether in marketing, sales, HR or military) becomes strategic or tactical depends entirely on its fit with the overall strategy of the organisation.
